Volunteer Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older

Earned high school diploma or equivalent
-
Pass all screening procedures
-
Must have 8-10 hours a month available

Complete initial volunteer training
-
Demonstrate a commitment to the child's best interest

Follow guidelines established by the National CASA Association
What Does a CASA Volunteers Do?
CASA volunteers support children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. They get to know the children and give them a voice in the courtroom.
Volunteers:
-
Go through an 8-week training process to learn how to be the best advocate for a child.

Spend regular, quality time getting to know their assigned child.

Are supported and supervised by CASA team members and work alongside everyone involved in the case.

Write objective court reports on the child's safety and well-being to help the judge make important decisions on the child's future.

Acts as a consistent adult for the child throughout the child's open case.

Volunteers spend on average 4-10 hours a month on their case.
